The ascent of Pique Longue du Vignemale is a classic in the French Pyrénées. It is needed to cross the glacier of Ossoue, a glacier with only few large crevasses that can be easily bypassed but requesting to stay focused. The hike can be split on 2 days by spending one night at the refuge of Baysselance. Around the area, you may be observe izards (Pyrenean breed of chamois), marmots, vultures and ibexes. In winter, the crossing of the glacier can be done skiing but the ascent will request the use of crampons

A great hike after one night under the tent at the border of Pyrénées National Park.
A must-do although the top can be crowdy
