This route combines the richness of the historical heritage with the history of electrical energy from the Rhine, a true link of the circuit. From Fessenheim, homeland of Victor Schœlcher - fervent defender of the fight against slavery and committed to the advancement of human rights, walk the country roads that connect small towns along the Rhine. Pass near Neuf-Brisach, city of the Sun King and masterpiece of Vauban unique octagonal architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then cross the Rhine in front of a first hydroelectric structure to discover Breisach whose Collegiate Romanesque Saint-Étienne shelters a rich interior ornamentation. Descend along the Rhine part of Germany to find your starting point through a second hydropower, you can visit near the House of Energy-EDF.
