This is part of the Mare e Monti trail system. Although it is a well-defined trail, the surface is rough some areas a long the way. The trail offers wonderful valley views and traverses through chestnut forests. It was a track used by the Genovese, who ruled Corsica until the mid 18th century, and features a stone bridge, the Ponte a Zaglia, built between 1712 and 1797. The climb from the bridge to the ridge includes about 90 switch-backs.

A moderate hike through chestnut forests and featuring magnificent valley views. Much of it is along a centuries-old trail built by the Genovese in the 18th century. The hike into and out from the valley is steep but not too difficult.
