The entire GR20 takes about 12 days to hike. It begins in Cadenza in the North and ends in Conca in the South. It can be done in either direction. It is well marked with red and white blazes. The best time to do the trek is between late May/early June to late October. July and August tend to be the busiest. There are refuges along the way. You can pay to stay in a refuge, but can also pay a fee to camp on the grounds if you have brought along a tent. Camping along the GR20 route is prohibited except at a refuge site. If you are doing this entire trek, plan to stay at multiple refuges over the course of your journey. They each cook and sell food, as well. The best place to replenish supplies is Vizzanova; however, some supplies can be purchased at Asco Stagnu, Castel di Vergio, Bavella. Be sure to bring a filter or drops since this is a long trek. Many people have reported no issues with water supplies, but speak with locals in the refuges for the best, most up to date information.
