Filitosa Megaliths Trail is a 1 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Filitosa, Corse-du-Sud, France that offers scenic views and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and birding and is accessible year-round.
Open air museum with stones cut and erected 8000 years ago. Filitosa is a megalithic site. The period of occupation spans from the end of the Neolithic era to the Roman times. About 20 megaliths were discovered in Filitosa. Although there's other places with megaliths in Corsica, this is the biggest. Filitosa has the other advantage to be readily accessible by car which not the case of the other megalithic sites of Corsica. If you are on the road in the region, have a break in Filitosa. This short 45 minutes walk in the shadow of the trees is very pleasant and the site is beautiful.
