While following the river. The Doubs which takes its source in Mouthe crosses Haut-Doubs through Pontarlier. Towards the bridge of the goats, turn left along the quai du Doubs, follow the shore to the bridge St-Roch, cross it before turning left. A bridge further, you come out on the old railway leading to Gilley. You will see the village of Doubs. Then cross the D437 to reach a gravel road on the edge of pasture. Gradually, you dominate the city nestled at the foot of Larmont. Go down towards the Pont des Chêvres, by the stairs of the Rue du Château Castaing.
