The walk departs Arley along the River Severn, heads past Trimpley Reservoir, crosses the line of the Severn Valley Railway, ascends a track through Eymore Woods before heading along a couple of roads and returning to the village via Arley Arboretum. The route comprises several different kinds of walking surface, including woodland paths that will be uneven and muddy. The section through Eymore Woods is of a reasonably steep gradient. There are no steps but there are several gates and a railway crossing. Stout boots are recommended. Allow 1.5-2 hours to complete. Arley is a small village, but there is a local shop and toilets are available near to the car park.
