Getting There

This circular walk from the small village of Hawbridge, just south of Stoulton in Worcestershire ncludes delightful woodland and quiet open countryside, calling at several watering holes along the way. For part of the walk, you will enjoy the delights of The Millennium Way where you will be guided by the distinctive green Millennium Way waymarkers. The route includes several gentle gradients and follows a mixture of field paths, tracks and lanes. In some of the crop fields the paths are not always reinstated by the farmers, so you may need to push your way through crops or divert around field edges at times. Whilst the vast majority of the fields are arable, you may come across horses in a couple of them. You will need to negotiate several gates, kissing gates, footbridges plus 11 stiles (several of which dogs will need a lift over). Allow 3.5 hours. The Millennium Way is a beautiful 100 mile walk in the heart of England, from Pershore in Worcestershire to Middleton Cheney in Northamptonshire. The route was created by the 41 Club as a community project, with something to offer every walker or rambler across Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. This is one of 44 circular walks, each of which incorporates a section of the Millennium Way and is published in partnership with 41 Club.

Hawbridge is a tiny village, just south of Stoulton and about 4 miles north-west of Pershore in Worcestershire. The walk starts and finishes outside Feli's Bar and Restaurant (previously known as The Fusion Brasserie). This is located on the slip road, just south of Stoulton, off the B4084. Roadside parking is available on this slip road. Approximate post code WR7 4RJ.

Although there is a warning in the walk description regarding field paths not being reinstated I wasn't prepared for the volume of field I'd have to be a trail blazer for. It must be at least 6. Not a problem, but quite hard going. Just before the Waddborough Road and private gardens the field has been fenced off for horses with electric tape, making the crossing a potentially hair raising experience. The Plough and Harrow at Drake's Broughton is currently closed for refurbishment. Excellent, clear written instruction.
