Lovely easy going walk, mostly flat. Nice views of the local countryside early in the walk with views of the reservoir in the second half. Nice to have a litter free walk.

A nice walk encompassing different terrains. Golf course, reservoir, country road and fields. The only disappointing part was the actual reservoir part with the barbed-wire fence. I wasn’t expecting it however I would do this walk again.

Nice gentle walk on mainly flat surfaces with a gorgeous view of the reservoir. If it’s been raining the night before I’d wear walking shoes as the field can get muddy.

Really beautiful trail, very muddy so definitely wear appropriate footwear (not trainers like me). Great Yorkshire views along the way, complimented on a lovely sunny day.

A decent walk close to the centre of Leeds. As with all autumnal walks, make sure to bring your waterproof shoes/wellies!

Walking

I was really looking forward to this walk with my dog who loves fields and woods. Started off great. Down a nice road then left over a field. You then go onto a long road and I had to be aware of cyclists (no problem it is a road). You then go over the reservoir bridge and into a woodland trail next to the reservoir. This should have been the best part allowing me to let my dog off the lead to happily enjoy the walk. How disappointing it was. The good folk of North Leeds clearly do not know what a footpath is or seemingly what a warning circular prohibition sign with a red border with a cycle actually means NO CYCLING BEYOND THIS POINT (just because there is no line through it - it still means the same). We spent the next 2 miles constantly and frantically trying to catch our dog to avoid cyclists. To the one gentleman who quite clearly does a lot of cycling and yelled cyclist coming before flying past us at a quite stupid speed - Grow up. You are very lucky you didn’t hit someone and find yourself in court. People like you give cyclists a very bad name and for your age and experience you should be ashamed of yourself. I can forgive kids but not fully grown adults (I have mentioned the worst but other actually did slow down). Why didn’t we say anything you might ask 1. We had an old version of the map and were not quite sure if the track had been changed to a bridleway 2. We shouldn’t have to confront people on what should be a lovely and relaxing walk On getting to the end of the track the no cycling sign is clearly visible and on looking at the updated path we were clearly on a footpath. I will not be doing this walk again under any circumstances due to the cyclists (especially the ignorant ones who should know better)

Lovely walk, not as many views of the reservoir as we might like but nice and straightforward trail.

I really enjoy this walk, it’s never too crowded. If you have dogs, beware that the footpath runs through a field which often has sheep grazing.

Slightly disappointed with this as you don’t really walk around the Reservoir. Other than that a nice easy walk.

Pros: Flat and easy to get around for a beginner (under two hours taking it at a leisurely pace with stop offs). Southern and western sides are the most interesting; mainly fields and forest. Take a snack/picnic to eat on the bench at the northern-most tip as it’s a nice spot. Lots of lovely people to say hello to on your way around. Cons: The reservoir. It’s fenced off for obvious reasons, however you don’t get to see much of it other than at the eastern point.
