Getting There

This simple, round walk from the village of Wepham in West Sussex features expansive views throughout, with the Solent and the Isle of Wight often visible to the south, along with Burpham, Arundel and Arundel Castle. You will encounter the usual ups and downs of the South Downs, but nothing too taxing. You are likely to pass sheep on route but they should be fenced in. You will encounter some stiles on the way, most of which have side gaps or dog gates to allow dogs to pass. Allow 2 hours.

Wepham sits to the north east of Arundel. To reach the village, leave Arundel on the A27 and shortly after passing over the railway bridge, turn left onto a road signed Warningcamp and Burpham. Drive for 2.5 miles and look out for a concrete roadway on the right with a round mirror and a footpath sign to the right-hand side. This is the start of the walk, but continue ahead for another 140 metres or so (passing a small road on the left) to reach a tarmac drive on the right with a footpath sign. This is the return route. Just passed the drive, there is parking for one car. If you cannot park here then there is a possibility of parking down the small road that you passed on the left. The latitude and longitude of the parking is 50.867197,-0.518782 and the nearest postcode is BN18 9RD.

An easy to follow open walk. Parking is very difficult in Wepham almost non existent which makes the walk very enjoyable due to it being so quiet. In total we saw 2 cyclists and in the distance 4 people walking dogs. Wide paths and on a windy day like today, ideal for blowing away the cobwebs. The views are excellent. Only reason it wasn't a 5 was the lack of variety (woods, ponds etc) but got a good view of a skylarks. Would recommend parking in Burpham and walking to the walk from there. Will be doing that next time and joining the walk from there

Really easy route with nice views across farm land. Watch out for the sheep on the home run!
