Getting There

A circular walk from the small pretty village in West Sussex. The route takes in the peaceful rolling countryside including an impressive old mill pond. There are great views throughout and a chance to visit the grave of the sister of Admiral Horatio Nelson. The walk has a number of steady climbs and descents throughout. There is about one mile of walking along a quiet country lane and you will need to negotiate three stiles (all with dog-sized gaps underneath) and some kissing gates. The paths across the open fields and meadows can be quite muddy after rain and in winter. Old Park Farm is currently deserted and so the fields are deserted meadows with no livestock or crops to negotiate.

Slaugham is located close to the A23, 7 miles south of Crawley. The walk starts and finishes from the centre of the village and there is parking available directly outside the church (St Mary's) or on the village roads. Approximate post code RH17 6AG.

Was a nice walk however, not amazing for dogs with lots of road walking. Slightly let down by this :(

Over grown

A pleasant walk especially as the sun was shining, we did this walk on 1st June and some of the paths were quite overgrown but passable. Lovely views and the 2 ponds/lakes were beautiful to walk by.

Really lovely and peaceful walk; nice open space. The road section is pleasant enough but the only downside of this walk.

Lovely walk a few roads but pathways in most places. Quite overgrown at the moment so wear sensible shoes. Great views of Slaugham Ponds and we stopped at The Vintage Inn for a glass of Wine. Parking near the smaller pond.

Walking

a lovely walk, despite reviews not boggy after a days rain. One side of the walk is a bit 'roady' but a pleasant country lane, which could be reduced by increasing the walk a tad heading towards the middle of the circular walk and back out again on the public footpath. we went anticlockwise which gave great views when crossing the meadows towards the stables. lovely village and walk starts/ends there.

Lovey church and small village but a lot of time walking along the road and swampy fields. March 2019

Slaugham is a very nice village - glad that the walk guide suggest how to pronounce it! Whilst the walk goes through farmland and along some roads it was very peaceful and we only met two people all the way around the walk.
