Getting There

A circular walk from the village of Berkswell, near Coventry in the West Midlands. The route takes in some attractive countryside and farmland. During the walk, you will enjoy a short section of the Millennium Way, the route being clearly marked by the distinctive black waymarkers. The route is mostly flat with only a few gentle slopes. You will need to negotiate several kissing gates plus 9 stiles (all of which should be suitable for most dogs to manage). You may come across livestock in some of the fields. There are a couple of short sections on roads. Allow 2 hours. The Millennium Way is a beautiful 100 mile walk in the heart of England, from Pershore in Worcestershire to Middleton Cheney in Northamptonshire. The route was created by the 41 Club as a community project, with something to offer every walker or rambler across Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. This is one of 44 circular walks, each of which incorporates a section of the Millennium Way and is published in partnership with 41 Club.

Berkswell is located about 7 miles west of Coventry in the West Midlands. The walk starts from the Berkswell village car park, accessed from Lavender Hall Lane (at the junction with Church Lane). Approximate post code CV7 7BJ.

Pleasant walk across farm fields with a few short sections on country lanes. Countless kissing gates provide a pleasant diversion if you're with the right person .. altogether a mild, green, pastoral experience.

Great walk out. Although there is HS 2 work going on in the area the trail is not blocked. Good concise directions so didn’t get lost and lists of geocache along the trail to find too.

Lovely trail but big dogs loose in field at 5km mark so had to double back, they belonged to the home nearby but were loose and huge. Really enjoyable and easy to follow, advise when you get to Truggist lane stay on it instead of going down Hodgitts as waterlogged in places.

Easy to follow, fairly enjoyable walk. Had to keep my dog on his lead the whole time which was a shame. A farmers dog chased us at one point so be careful and keep moving. A couple of the passageways were very narrow with overgrown nettles so I’d advise wearing protective clothing.

agree with the above, definatly better more enjoyable walks in the area. I'm unlikely to do this one again. also there was quite a lot of livestock in the fields which made navigating the mud with two dogs on a lead a little challenging! ADMIN RESPONSE: Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy this Millennium Way walk. If you would rather avoid livestock, remember to read the walk introductions where you will be forewarned about livestock and so can choose a more appropriate route instead.
