Getting There

A circular walk from Kenilworth in Warwickshire. This gentle walk starts at the historic Kenilworth Castle and continues across flat farmland and open countryside, with many attractive views. For part of the walk you will enjoy the delights of The Millennium Way, where you will be guided by the distinctive black waymarkers. The walk is relatively flat, with just some gentle gradients. There are no stiles on route, but you will need to negotiate several kissing gates, steps and footbridges. You are likely to come across farm livestock (including alpacas) in some of the fields. Allow 3 hours. The Millennium Way is a beautiful 100 mile walk in the heart of England, from Pershore in Worcestershire to Middleton Cheney in Northamptonshire. The route was created by the 41 Club as a community project, with something to offer every walker or rambler across Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. This is one of 44 circular walks, each of which incorporates a section of the Millennium Way and is published in partnership with 41 Club.

Kenilworth is located about 5 miles north of Warwick. The walk starts from the free car park by Kenilworth Castle (almost opposite the Queen and Castle pub). Approximate post code CV8 1ND. If this is full, you can also park at the pay and display Castle car park which is located just off Castle Road (the B4103) behind Kenilworth Castle, and start your walk from the end of the service road mentioned in the directions.

Amazing!! I got lost right at the start but just a great hike it didn't matter much. All the mud had dried up so everywhere was acceptable

Mud! So much mud. My garmin recorded this as 6.7 miles so wasn’t quite a 7 mile walk, completed it in 2.5 hrs.

really enjoyed this walk! apart from a few sticky patches where mud was quite slippy it was fairly flat and easy. think we may have deviated from route at one point and cut out a large section, but was very easy to get back on track and still felt like a satisfying length walk

Great walk, got slightly lost at the start due to getting confused with wrong ticket booth! Added a mile onto the walk, although at the end my Garmin said 9 miles but expected 8. Loved the Alpacas. I would like to do this again in less wet conditions as it was a mud fest for 80% lots of slipping and sliding.
