A circular walk in the Surrey Hills, visiting a number of popular attractions including Silent Pool, a stretch of the North Downs Way, Newlands Corner and St Martha's Hill and offering superb views. This walk is published through a collaboration with the Surrey County Council. The walk has several climbs and descents throughout, including a steep climb up to the top of the North Downs. Several of the paths can be muddy and some of the chalk slopes can be very slippery when wet so good boots are a must (or wellingtons with grips in the winter months). You will need to negotiate some steps, one kissing gate and two stiles (both of which have open fence surrounds for dogs to pass through). There is just one field, at the end, that may be holding livestock with the rest of the route following paths through heath and woodland. The route crosses two busy roads so take particular care at these points. Allow 3 hours. There are public toilets and refreshment available at Newlands Corner (waypoint 2). Albury Vineyard is located alongside the car park at the start and end of the walk and offers wine tasting on most Saturdays (check the vineyard website for details). Ordnance Survey Map: Explorer 145 Guildford and Farnham. This walk follows public footpaths and bridleways which cross private and public land. Information is included for your interest, but please respect people's privacy, keep dogs under control and remember the Countryside Code.

Great route, steep at first but levels off for most of the rest of the route. First bit will be tricky when wet. Awesome views.

I am giving this walk five stars as it is impeccably written (lots of detail and all very accurate) and the walk itself was an enjoyable, varied one and a lovely way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Silent Pool is an interesting spot to look round and I enjoyed the mixed forest and open country terrain. I especially enjoyed the forest swing with the marvellous view over the Surrey Hills! Will hopefully do this one again at some point.

The view from Newlands corner is spectacular however much of the rest of the walk is in dense hedgerows or trees with little view and in the shade. Spent most of the time dodging nettles wishing we were in the full sun. Recommend popping into the vineyard at the start of the walk as they do a tour and have a nice selection of their own wine you can buy by the glass / bottle. But after that just take your car to the Newlands corner car park pay the £4 and enjoy the view with a picnic.

Really great walk, great views and free car park. There’s the Silent Hill distillery right on the car park too if that’s of interest where there’s a tour and shop, and of course samples.

Would definitely recommend this walk to anybody with a dog! Be prepared for the super steep hill at the start of the walk but after that it is very enjoyable. Lovely walk which takes you all through countryside and past St Marthas Church which overlooks Chilworth and Albury.

One of the best walks so far. It was quite boring at first but picked up after point 2. There is a chance to cut a corner after point 3, but I advise not to as the part between points 3-5 is the most beautiful of all. Whole trail took me 2hrs 15min including 1 short break, walking at moderate speed. Hills were usually at around 40° incline (my guess) so very doable. Most of it is woodland but there are some nice field views aa well. If you cant decide between several trails, pick this one!

One of the best walks I’ve done in this area. Serene, stunning views, great paths, few roads. And as planned it is definitely 10km (6miles). The uphill bits make it a 6 good miles.

Fantastic walk. Had my family over from France and they absolutely loved it. It was a great way to show them the beauty of Surrey by walking through the countryside and forest. Would probably do it again.

Did the walk today, first real beautiful day of spring. We normally prefer walks to have a few less people around, but the fact that it can be a busy walk, don't let that put you off as it was fabulous! Plus we bought a bottle of fab quality English sparkling wine At the end!
