Getting There

A pleasant walk from Pirbright village passing through fields, woodland and heathland. This walk is published through a collaboration with the Surrey County Council. The walk is mainly flat with just a couple of gentle slopes. Stout shoes/boots are recommended as the route can be muddy in places. You will need to negotiate several gates/kissing gates plus two low stiles (which most dogs should be able to pass under or hop over). A couple of the fields you cross are likely to be holding horses so take care with dogs. The route includes a few stretches along quiet lanes without pavements, so take care of traffic at these points. Allow 2 hours. If you are looking for refreshments, the White Hart pub is next to the green at the start point, and the Cricketers pub is at the other end of the green, towards the end of the walk. Ordnance Survey Map: Explorer 145 Guildford and Farnham. This walk follows public footpaths and bridleways which cross private land. Information is included for your interest, but please respect people's privacy, keep dogs under control and remember the Countryside Code.

Pirbright is located on the A324 between Woking and Aldershot in Surrey. The walk starts from Pirbright Green, the open green area in the centre of the village. There are car parks on Pirbright Green or there is some roadside parking, but please park with respect for the local residents. This was not a walk of fields, woodland and heathland. It was driveways, alleyways and horse fields. Also, not moderate difficulty, there was nothing challenging. Altogether, uninspiring.

A lovely walk! So many horse fields, lots of animals seen including a Llama and a ginger cat! The road trails were not even that bad, I was worried we’d be walking on main roads the whole time but it was lovely and quiet and peaceful.

An enjoyable walk with plenty of interest. Mostly level and no stiles, so suitable for dogs. Good directions on the whole.

A lovely quick loop that follows a peaceful trail through the forest and fields. Some sections go along roads and residential paths, but all in all a good walk and recommended if you live in the local area!

Great walk. I followed the Waymarks fine. At point 5 there is a footbridge which no longer has stiles at each end.

I have done this route 3 times - the first time I used the weypoints and I’m afraid we got completely lost on them. They were not clear to us ... the second and third time I used gps and it was perfectly fine so I do recommend the gps over the weypoints on this route. It was very pretty though and a lovely little walk to stretch the old legs!! Highly recommend

This walk was really pretty as you passed the church and some great woody areas however the wayside directions were confusing. It didn’t end too well as we really couldn’t find the right path to take and ended up walking back along the roads for quite a decent distance... I’m sure it was there somewhere but we failed to find it (I hadn’t worked out how to use the gps for this app at this point but I think now I do know it would face been a lot easier!) very local and was ideal for a running trail too.
