Nice trail. Lovely in the autumn leaves - can be a bit muddy in spots. The trail in the app was a bit hard to follow at one point, but it was easy to right ourselves soon after.

Stunning walk! Great for children (mine loved it! 4 &6 yrs). So many different types of terrain. A really interesting walk with many dens and play opportunities on route

WalkingGreat!

It’s a nice walk but almost all in the woods with just a few areas where it opens out. Trails leading everywhere so even if you stray from the recommended route it’s easy to get back onto it. The war memorial is worth making a detour for.

HikingGreat!

Wonderful woodland with a nice sandy surprise - lots of trails that aren't marked and aren't on maps, but as they all interconnect it's a great place to explore without worrying too much about staying on the recommended track.

What a beautiful walk. Mainly covered in the wooded area so keeps you cool most of the way round. Probably feel chilly if doing it on an average day. Lots of dog walkers which is fine and a few interesting varieties of underfoot terrain. There is one steep hill and then later you will find yourself going down some wood and stoney uneven steps so take care here. It was a fun trail. Good for kids as tree lying around make good climbing frames and there was a swing in the woods too! Although it’s very busy the whole time we were in the area. Great walk I recommend this one!

Lovely scenery but lots of paths that don’t exist on the map and the route doubles back a lot!

Lovely wooded walk through the forest but lots were off trail and overgrown. Elevation was steep at times, but manageable.

First to Review

I’d suggest parking in one of the car parks on the other side of the road bridge from Oxshott Station. Some description of the walk itself and the interesting geology and flora of the area would make it far better. Look at the waymarker descriptions from point to point on the Explore Surrey: Chessington countryside walk. This should be a compulsory part of any walk on the website.
