Fantastic route for walking. After the boarded walkway the path skirts the marsh towards Walberswick nature reserve. During winter and on wet day's be prepared to get muddy.

RunningGreat!Over grown

I completed this route over the weekend as a trail run. Overall its a diverse and scenic trail with plenty to offer. The first leg of the trail over the board walk and through the grassland was very overgrown though. If you're walking it, wear long trousers. Great hike with a lot of variable vegetation. The whole walk is pretty flat. Great circular route that allows you to stop at the beach for a break and lunch. Be careful of nettles! The only downside.

A pleasant trail, consisting predominantly of two straight legs and a broad turn around at the far end. The outward leg is initially through pretty forest and then drifts into a narrow path flanked each side by a variety of long grasses. There are expansive views above the grasses. Best for bird watchers. At the end of the first leg. the path sweeps to the right to run parallel with the beach for about 300m, with man made canals lying between the path and the beach. The return journey is largely along, what appear to be, forestry tracks associated with the pine forest through which you walk. it seems that most walkers and cyclists use the second leg of this route to get to access the beach and main bird watching areas in that vacinity. The first keg of the route could not be cycled without having to stop and push the bike on the narrow sections of the path. This would not be that easy. This may be required for 20% of the first leg. Being less well used, the beach end of this leg of the route looks like it will become overgrown soon, unless foot traffic increases or some path trimming action is taken. My personal view is that forest roads and other long / straight routes are more enjoyable to do on a bike than on foot.

First to Review

Not a bad trail at all. I lost signal in Dunwich Woods which threw me off track so I'd recommend downloading the maps if you can. Nice stop off at the beach, plenty of beautiful views and not too steep.
