From the road, climb about 500 ft to the ridge. Hike along the ridge and get great views of East Cheshire, The Staffordshire Dales, and sights such as Bosley Cloud (also a good hike), and Kinder Scout. Descend through a pasture, and follow sign left to Lud's Church. This not a physical church but a 60 ft deep chasm that was used in the 14th century as a meeting place by the Lollard sect. There is much in Wikipedia on both the Lollards and Lud's Church.

What beautiful views, some really steep areas. Was a warm day therefore lots of water was required. Definately going back.

Fantastic views! Traffic on the road back is a bit to put up with but views make it all worth it!

Great walk. Even in the wind and rain. Beautiful views from the roaches and lud's church is a really special place. A must see. Moderately challenging but we managed with 3 children (12,10,6) - the ice cream van at roaches end really helped!

I only came across the app this morning, found this route and decided to give it a go. The views are incredible, absolutely breathtaking. We only did the first loop as my dog was getting a bit restless as there were so many other walkers/dogs. Would 100% go back (just not on a bank holiday as was insanely busy).

Fantastic hike! Great scenic views & mixed terrain, bit of everything. Was good to watch the groups of people abseiling & bouldering whilst walking past. Highly recommend.

Great walk! it's got a bit of everything, great views, really easy to follow and as you have the option to chop the walk down, potentially suitable for youngsters too. Would highly recommend it! Do be mindful of the parking situation and get there early. I got there just after 10am on a Saturday and there were only a few spots left. Can imagine it gets fairly packed in Summer!
