Dovehead and Three Shires Head is a beautiful hike in the Peak District. Parking can be a little tricky on busy days and you will be able to find all facilities at the start of the trail . On a sunny day, the walk is very relaxing and pleasant. The waterfalls is a must visit along the ride and there are many picnic tables on the way to enjoy with friends and family. The landscapes and views is just breathtaking. There are many livestock on the fields, sheep and a many other wild animals.
A beautiful hike in the Peak District. At arrival not many parking places left. On a sunny day it’s a relaxing hike. Lunch at the river/waterfall is nice. It can be busy with people. The dog enjoyed it too. We extended our walk and have seen some amazing views! It is worth a hike. Enjoy
Very peaceful trail. Road portion only makes up about 5% of the entire walk. True to the moderate rating. The ongoing water stream alongside us made the walk!
Three Shires Head route is brilliant for a day out. Paths well cleared with only a few minor difficulties. In the Peaks itself, conditions change extremely quickly and the paths aren't great. Little to no signage throughout. Certainly need a good pair of boots, kit and decent hiking knowledge.
Nice walk especially the off road section down to 3 shires bridge which is lovely very popular especially on a sunny day but ok when we did it. in hignsite I would do it the opposite way round next time to avoid the steep climb at the end. 4 star due to too much road walking.
One of the best trails I’ve had. We went anti clockwise and bumped into a farm of Llamas and Emu’s. We followed the trial then to the waterfalls. Instead of using the path we actually walked along the embankment up stream which was beautiful. Lots of wildlife, lots of places to stop and enjoy the views. Really recommend
The perfect trail! Some steep but short climbs in parts but nothing too strenuous. The waterfall is beautiful but does get busy with walking groups! Loads of animals along the way and really picturesque. There’s a nice pub ten minutes before the end of the trail too called the knights table. Can’t wait to do this one again!
