Getting There

This is a circular walk, starting in Codsall village, heading out past Chillington Hall and then returning to Codsall. The trail encompasses views of fields and woodlands, and also takes you past Chillington Hall, a Grade I listed building. As this walk takes you through a few kinds of habitats, it is ideal for spotting flora and fauna. Kingfishers and Goldfinches have both been seen along this trail. Large sections of the walk take place on tarmac roads, but there are some sections that can be extremely muddy so stout walking boots are essential. You may be sharing some of the fields with grazing animals. There are several stiles along the route and some parts (including one fairly long stretch) follow the edge of main roads that have no pavement, so take care of traffic.

By car: take the A41 from the M54, then follow Heath House Lane and Histons Hill into Codsall village. Free parking is available in the village, in a car park between Wolverhampton Road and Bakers Way. By bus: The 5A bus departs from Wolverhampton bus station, see nxbus.co.uk for timetable. Approximate postcode: WV8 1PT

Really enjoyable walk on a nice afternoon/evening. Good route. I found the hidden stile. The only bad part was walking along the road towards Codsall Wood. Could get a bit dangerous as there was no path to walk on.

Really pleasant walk until about three quarters of the way round after finding the hidden stile the path to get to road is so overgrown it was impassable without chopping down stinging nettles. Climbed into adjoining field to pass. Only fifty yards long and remaining walk pleasant again.

Started off well but then following a few fields you have to walk through two field of which a horse is kept on each. Now if you’re ok with a huge horse galloping towards you then fine, I bleeding shit myself

Great walk but I had problems finding the hidden stile - it's 3/4 way up the corn field
