East trail along the side of the lock. Part of the way through a few mini hills but nothing to strenuous. We walked through the woods trail on the way back to add variation, that’s a butt more strenuous.

Lovely flat. Well paved walk suitable for pushchairs. I extended my walk to 12k and did a circular loop around Conisbrough taking in the castle, then back to the path via Conisbrough viaduct.

Fabulous evening walk in the sunshine, we walked anti-clockwise, came back over the viaduct and then took the woodland trail.

Great trail - easy to extend the trail if you’re looking for a longer walk, we continued on the route past Conisbrough to Barnburgh and Harlington and then turned back. Nice mixture of terrain and views

Second walk on this route and this time we completed the route all the way to the viaduct. There had been three days of heavy rain so the river was well over the banking at the start of the walk. It had dropped two foot or more by our return. Interesting to see changing conditions. No problems however if you are well wrapped up and well shod.

Very nice walk on an autumn morning. We cut off before the end of the outward stretch and returned via good quality paths. Should put this up as a walk .
