This lovely circular walk takes you through rolling Oxfordshire and Warwickshire countryside with some beautiful views along the way. The walk starts in Shenington and loops through Tysoe both ironstone villages of dark honey-coloured local stone. Shenington's main claims to fame are an illegal 1810 bare knuckle boxing match for the English title involving a famous American black boxer; and the testing of jet aircraft at Shenington airfield in WW2. There is one steep but short climb, otherwise it is fairly easy going across undulating fields. You will walk through livestock fields, with some short stretches of quiet road walking and private lanes. There are a number of stiles and gates. Allow 3 hours. There are pubs in both Shenington and Tysoe; and also a teashop and village stores in Tysoe.
