A circular walk from Loddon Brewery in Dunsden Green, Oxfordshire. Loddon Brewery is a friendly family-run brewery based in a 300-year old barn, where you can sample the beer or even enjoy a tour (walkers and their canine companions will receive a warm welcome). With tables for visitors both inside the shop and outside on the front terrace, you can enjoy either bottled beer from the shop (open from 9am Mon-Sat) or a pint served directly from the taproom (open from 10am Thurs-Sat) after your walk. The walking route takes in the surrounding countryside, just south of the Chiltern Hills, and includes all the highlights you would expect from the Chilterns, from soaring red kites and tree-lined tracks to rolling fields, a pretty church and far-reaching views across the Thames Valley. The walk includes several steady gradients and follows a mixture of bridleway tracks and field edge footpaths. Some stretches of the unmade paths can be very muddy in winter or after periods of rain. There are no stiles or kissing gates on route, but you will need to negotiate a few steps plus a narrow gap alongside a vehicle barrier. You will not be sharing any of the paths with livestock, although there are plenty of game birds in the area, so take care with dogs. There are a couple of very short sections along quiet country lanes. Allow 1.5 hours.

Loved this trail. We cycled with our 5 year old still getting used to pedal and our 2 year old on the back of my husbands bike. Was a bit challenging at times for my 5yr old but he did a great job and loved the down hill part! Hardly saw another person, it was fantastic

Great trail, slightly muddy at start but should be better now with the dryer weather. Very clear instructions great view after climb to the top of the hill.

We did this trail as family and really enjoyed it. Nice easy walk but some parts very muddy after all the rain, but added to the fun. Highlight of watching a huge herd of deer stampede across several paddocks after we disturbed them grazing. Good views over Reading and towards the East and a very quaint church to drop by. Would definitely do again especially knowing that there’s a very good cold beer waiting at the end of it.

Nice walk and darned good beer.

OK walk through relatively open countryside. The route beside A-road is inside field boundary (if you are worried by that). Brewery wasn’t open so missed out on the beer bonus!

Pleasant walk. Great scenery. Took us one hour and enjoyed a well earned pint at the brewery.
