Nice relatively moderate walk with lovely scenery all the way around. A few small areas of mud / bog but easily navigated. Can see it being a bit of a problem after heavy rainfall, but is totally worth the trip. Need to take it slow about half way round as you weave up and down some tree roots that are quite slippery in places. Worth taking the higher path over the top of that stretch rather than clambering through, especially as the ice begins to thaw. This walk includes the views of three reservoirs (Swinsty, Fewston and Thruscross). It's excellent for dogs, they will love it. There was also a mobile coffee stall in the car park which seemed to be popular with returning walkers.

Walked on a fine dry day after about a week of similar weather before. Nice easy walk with lovely scenery all the way around. A few small areas of mud / bog but easily navigated. Can see it being a bit of a problem after heavy rainfall though. Need to take it slow about half way round as you weave up and down some tree roots that are quite slippery in places.

Lovely walk. Still slightly muddy in parts but it is drying up and so is more "spring" thank sinky mud. Their is a small section that is a bit steep with quite a few slippy tree branches and no obvious path but it doesn't last very long.

Really good varied walk that takes you by the reservoir, through woodland and over moorland. Part of the path through the woods is extremely steep and muddy (this was in early March) and it did feel a bit dangerous in parts coming downwards. If I were to repeat the walk, I'd try to find an alternative for this section. Overall, highly recommended!

The trail was great. Water, ice, rocks, moors ... was really varied. As someone else has said you lose a bit of the path, but we enjoyed climbing up and scrambling a little. However, the ground was hard so it wasn’t an issue. I did this with my 10 year old he loved it.

Gorgeous walk, enjoyed today in ice and snow. The stretch through the woods was pretty rough and the path impassible with lots of trees having come down. Probably worth taking the higher path over the top of that stretch rather than clambering through, especially as the ground begins to thaw.

This is a lovely circular walk including three reservoirs (Swinsty, Fewston and Thruscross). Excellent for dogs, path can get quite muddy at times and there is a small amount of tougher terrain. Allow 6.5 hours, including picture stops and lunch. Lovely view of from both the bottom and top of Thruscross Dam.

Good walk, slippy in places due to ground frozen, Trail in a bad way round flax mill ruin due to recent weather conditions I would guess as we saw a few downed trees on the route we took and was a bit of a muddy scramble up some of the trail in places. The moor section was boggy in places but nothing to severe..

Beautiful walk / hike. Great views (especially in the snow), easy to follow ... though it is muddy / boggy in parts.

HikingGreat!Muddy

Went today (20-11-2020) and it was quite muddy underfoot in a few areas. Best take a set of wellies or ankle high walking boots. We saw a few people in trainers, definitely not advisable. Steep incline in wooded area was tricky with the mud. Nice walk though and the dog loved it. There was also a mobile coffee stall in the car park which seemed to be popular with returning walkers.
