A circular walk from the village of Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales. If you want a fairly short walk in the Dales, with just a few climbs and you (and your dog) don't mind hopping over dry stone walls, then this one is for you. On this walk you will be rewarded with fantastic views of the Dales - Reeth is situated at the junction of Arkengarthdale and Swaledale. The beautiful village has a nice buzz, with plenty to see and do after your walk. If you have forgotten how beautiful the Dales can be, this walk will remind you. The walk has several steady climbs and descents throughout. You will need to negotiate several stone stiles (gaps in the dry stone walls) along the way - some of these are quite narrow and could be a challenge for wider people and dogs. There may well be sheep in some of the fields, especially early on, and also some cattle in one of the fields towards the end so take particular care with dogs. The multiple grass pastures and stone walls can be disorientating so the live GPS map on the app will be your best navigation aid! Allow 2 hours.

A pleasant walk on a lovely September day in 2017. The instructions are very clear and the route is easy to follow. The app on a phone with GPS shows you where you are on the route. You may have to lift your dog over some of the stiles in the drystone walls.
