pub walk

A circular walk from the village of Millington in the Yorkshire Wolds. This walk has it all, a pretty village, dog-friendly pub, a real feeling of wide open space and plenty of green paths, fields and lanes (ideal for some canine romping). A couple of steady climbs reward the walker with stunning views of the Yorkshire Wolds. The route has some steady climbs and some road walking along lanes with wide grass verges. The vast majority of the walk is over wide, grassy paths. You will need to negotiate some boardwalks, gates and stiles (all with dog gates) and you may also encounter cattle in a couple of fields. Allow 2.5 hours.

That hill is a hike at the begining. But what a beautiful view and what a lovely route.

Nice leisurely walk through the wolds. The road section isn't too long but make sure you take the second gate on the right not the first otherwise you end up at the bottom of a farmers field like us.

Really lovely walk - quite hilly at the beginning. Ramblers Rest is closed on a Tuesday through summer as we found out today!

Good route but I’m not sure why you would avoid Millington Wood. We dropped down into the wood from the main road rather than do the final 2 fields which made the walk more interesting. Fab views but the hills certainly raise the heart rate!!

Great walk this. To note, we walked this on a hot sunny day, not much shade so almost always in the full sun.
