A circular walk from the village of Lower Dunsforth, near to Aldborough in North Yorkshire. This walk is great if you are after a relaxing riverside walk (perhaps where your dog can easily have a paddle or a swim). The countryside around the River Ure and Lower Dunsforth is gently undulating, so if you are not up for lots of energetic climbing this is perfect. It's also very pretty. The terrain is fairly easy going, on quiet roads, through fields and by the riverside on grassy paths. You will need to negotiate several gates plus 7 stiles. Whilst about half of the stiles have adjacent dog gates, dogs will probably need a lift over some of the others. You are likely to come across cattle and sheep in some of the fields. A few of the narrower sections can get a bit overgrown. Allow 2 hours.

Very confusing directions, you have to walk through pastures with cows, overgrown to the point where you can’t see the trail. Stick to the loop on the map by the starting point. The map on the app map gives you wrong directions. I couldn’t complete the loop with the map on this app because I got lost (and I’m pretty good with directions) and had a stand off with a cow.

Nice walk taking just over one hour. Some of the pathway is overgrown so nettles can be a problem. Also there was a fenced barrier blocking one place so had to make a small detour and climb over a fence.
