A circular walk from Chislehurst Station in South East London, heading through Petts Wood, taking in several memorials and on to the remains of Scadbury Moated Manor. IMPORTANT NOTE: The route is designed to guide users to the memorials and the ruins of the Manor House. Being mainly in woodland, there are few clear landmarks and waymarkers on the ground and so, whilst the written directions have been carefully written, the use of the app's recording feature (showing your location) will greatly aid navigation. There are a number of inclines and declines, however nothing strenuous. The paths are mostly through woodland and therefore they will get muddy after periods of rain (in the summer trainers normally suffice). There is a road crossing immediately after the station, but there is a bridge to allow safe crossing. Mid-way through the route there is another road crossing, which needs to be crossed twice (once there, once back); cars travel at speed on this road however the route crosses at a traffic island and there are generally plenty of gaps in the traffic. You will not be sharing any of the paths with livestock and there are no stiles on route. Allow 3 hours. There are no toilets or shops on the route, so make sure you have everything you need at Chislehurst.

Did this walk with a 5 and 3 year old, lots of beautiful sights to see, although lots of uneven ground

A very nice walk mostly through woodland with no road walking just crossing quite a busy road twice. The trail was very muddy 90% of the way round but the kids loved it. The moated manor was worth a look but is in very poor condition. The fields and farm give the walk a rural feel which is nice considering your only 20mins from London. Enjoyed by the whole family.
