The Great Stour Way is a three mile surfaced shared use path between Canterbury and Chartham running alongside the river. The path is part of the National Cycle Network, route 18, and for people from Canterbury it's a gateway to the Stour Valley and to the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Great walk from Chartham to Canterbury with waterways and wildlife to spot along the way. Downside is the constant traffic noise in parts - but don’t let this deter you from walking this trail. Walk a little further into the Westgate Gardens for a slice of home made cake and a cup of tea at the Tower House Cafe - delicious!

Living in Canterbury, this is a great escape from the hustle of the city centre. Pathed all the way so perfect for everyone of all abilities in all conditions.

had a lovely ramble from Canterbury to chartham on the Great Stour Way. goes through beautiful countryside and a fee grazing areas so you're likely to encounter some sheep friends. I began my recording a bit before the great Stour Way, in the West gate gardens, which is why my record is a bit longer than it should be. also highly recommend stopping in chartham for a pint when you get there - there's a 15th century pub not far away from the path called the artichoke which was really nice.
