This rural walk through the Hampshire countryside takes you along both sides of Wallop Brook and through the pretty villages of Over Wallop and Nether Wallop. The walk passes through farmland and around the back of both villages. Although this walk does not have any particular distinguishing features, it is a pleasant ramble in spring when it is made all the prettier with all the blossom in the meadows. You will need to negotiate several stiles and a kissing gate, all of which are fairly dog-friendly. Most of the footpaths are well-marked and easy to follow and the lanes usually very quiet. There is just one busy road (A343) which you will cross twice. The terrain is mainly flat but one section of the track past a farmyard can be very muddy so stout walking boots are recommended. Allow 2 hours.

nice route but some sections were so overgrown as to be close to impassable. I ended up taking the parallel running main road for the final mile or so as I couldn't face hacking through more undergrowth. Definitely need to be wearing sturdy walking boots for this - I went on a lovely hot July day wearing hiking sandals but the amount of nettles and brambles meant I regretted that almost immediately. Definitely a decent walk though. Some inclines and stairs throughout the walk meant you'll be burning some extra calories. Mixed terrain throughout and starts and ends at a lovely pub.
