A circular pub walk from the beautiful estate village of Faccombe in Hampshire. The Jack Russell Inn is the perfect spot for post-ramble refreshments, where you can enjoy delicious estate fare with real fires in the winter or garden views of the village pond in the summer. The walking route explores the estate thoroughfares, following farm tracks and woodland paths through the beautiful rolling hills. It is a peaceful journey with plenty of wildlife, wildflowers and lovely vistas along the way. The walk includes several climbs and descents throughout, a couple of which are quite steep. For the most part the walk follows ancient tracks and paths but there is one stretch along a quiet country lane, so take care of traffic at this point. Some of the chalk paths can become muddy and slippery when wet, so good boots are a must (or wellies with good grips in the winter). There are no stiles or kissing gates on route; you will only need to negotiate a few gaps alongside farm gates. You will not be sharing any of the paths with livestock, but there are plenty of gamebirds around so take care with dogs. Allow 1.5 hours.
