Burley and Sway is a 7.5 mile loop trail located near New Milton, Hampshire, England that features a river and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options.
Nice trial, after the first half which could be much more enjoyable on a bicycle (a bit boring and too easy for walking) we were surprised by flooded pass (we had to use a wood barrel over this “river”) and about 3kms of deep mud. Typical New Forest in February. Good adventure. Horses don’t really want to eat carrots.
Lovely circular walk. When you hit the river, if you follow GPS you’ll end up jumping over the river only to get stuck walking through a bog. Better not to cross at that point or get very wet feet!
The walk was largely easy to follow although our GPS tracker recorded it at 8.6 miles rather than the advertised 7.5. Around the 6 mile mark is a small stream you have to cross, around 3-4 inches deep so be prepared for wet feet. Took around 3hrs 40 mins.
