Getting There

A nice circular walk through the New Forest countryside in Hampshire. This route will take you through wide open heathland, forest trails, ancient woods and traditional farmland. There is also a dog-friendly pub and brewery towards the end of the walk. There are no stiles, but you will need to negotiate a couple of gates. Most of this walk is good for off-lead dog walking, however a couple of sections are on quiet roads and there are also many wild ponies and donkeys en route. You can shorten the route if you wish - the optional short-cut is described within the walk sections. Allow 2.5 hours.

The walk starts and finishes from the High Corner Forestry Commission car park near Linwood. Follow directions for High Corner Inn, BH24 3QY. Before getting to the inn, there will be a car park on the left signposted by the Forestry Commission as High Corner Car Park. The car park is free of charge. (Use the live GPS map to locate this exact starting car park). Alternatively, there are several other car parks in the area, which are also suitable parking places.

Nice walk if you like a path (I prefer a grassy trail). Beautiful ancient woodland with some stunning oaks and lots of birds.

Nice walk for the majority of it, over heathland and through peaceful forest but didn't want to do the 20 minute stretch along the road so deviated from the set path just after the pub.

Great directions and nice walk. To much road work at end if you have a dog.

Postcode??? ADMIN RESPONSE: The nearest post code is already clearly stated in the introduction - you just need to read it. This paragraph also explains that this post code is for a nearby inn (as the car park does not have a post code - this is often the case for rural car parks) and so gives advice on how to find the exact location once the post code has directed you to the locality.
