This walks starts in the village of Brockenhurst - be sure to check out its fab cafés to stock up on snacks and drinks if need be. This walk takes you through the beautiful countryside and forests of the New Forst and its highlight is certainly the majestic redwoods and firs that were planted in the late 1850s to create the Rhinefield Ornamental Drive for the nearby Rhinefield House. If you fancy a stop to check out the Rhinefield Arboretum be sure to check out the waymark which indicates where to stop. The Arboretum has a magnificent range of tree species from around the world, so it's really worth a visit. A lot of this route is on gravel paths so it's great for walkers and bikers alike.
Fabulous walk, quite muddy in some parts but the majority is on gravel paths etc - one of my favourite walks!! Added luxury of working loo half way round!
Very muddy but a nice all round trip and gives you a decent experience of the New Forest of moorlands and forests.
Lovely trail. Great mix of Forest and Heath. Very muddy after a big rain. Boots/Wellies recommended.
