Dovestones is a hidden gem not far from Manchester on the edge of the Peak District. It has a good path suitable for wheelchairs around the main reservoir which is two and a half miles to walk around alone. Other paths lead up the hillside where you can enjoy tougher, longer walks with better views. Recently a lot of signposts have been installed to improve health and safety and remind people not to drop litter and to keep their dog's on a lead around sheep.

The path is mostly gravel and relatively flat but there are some slightly rocky sections about halfway through. The rocky sections had small streams running through but these could be easily stepped over.

l would recommend this walk as a beginners walk. It is an easy enough walk, well signed out with some wonderful sights to see.
