A circular walk in the Gloucestershire Cotswolds. Starting in Coln Saint Aldwyn, the first half of this walk follows the pretty River Coln to Bibury, and then returns across higher fields with wide open views. This is a lovely walk through delightful countryside and two very pretty villages. It is worth allowing some extra time to explore both Coln Saint Aldwyn and Bibury. The church in Coln Saint Aldwyn contains a display of the village's history and the Williamstrip Estate which owns much of the surrounding land. There are a couple of short sharp ascents and descents on the walk but otherwise it is very easy going. There is one low step-over stone slab stile, no other stiles but quite a few gates. The walk goes through mixed farmland and you may encounter sheep and cattle. Allow 3.5 hours. For refreshments, there is a pub and community-owned village stores, post office and cafe in Coln Saint Aldwyn. There are several pubs and teashops in Bibury.
