Enjoyed the trail, however the footpaths were not very well labeled and some were not accessible but we were able to find detours pretty easily. Also no benches throughout so maybe wait till the pubs are open before doing this walk. Also some areas very muddy. Took us 5 hours :)

Tough for an ‘easy’ walk. Very quiet and peaceful hike through varied farmland and villages.

Will be a lovely walk during the summer but flooded and muddy at the moment, which I enjoyed as I was running. Make sure if you are following the route using your phone that the battery will last. As you can see mine didn't and I went a bit of track which added to the fun.

A muddy trek today (due to rain a few days back) but was a lovely route. Only managed to go off route once and easy to get back on it again. Be nice to do again in warmer drier weather!

Muddy in winter months. Nice scenery. Moderate difficulty due to the terrain.

Took 4 hrs 20mins in very muddy conditions. Would say in winter months this is more of a moderate walk/hike. Interesting views, lovely area.

First to Review

This hike is a good Way to explore Essex countryside. It brings you into fields, across some villages, it follows a river and you might see some livestock in the fields. Please do close the gates behind you! It was a lovely walk. Plenty of space and not too busy. The small roads you cross are usually lightly in traffic. The dog was able to be off lead on large parts as well. Some paths were a bit uneven as the ground was very firm. Not all paths were clearly pointed out. But you will find your way with the app. Enjoy
