Begin this pleasant walk at The Jolly Sportsman in East Chiltington. Follow the road through town to the church and get on the path that heads west past the Plumpton race course. Just before reaching the town of Streat, turn left and head south. Eventually, you will pass Plumpton College and arrive at Blackcap. This area offers great views of the Downs. After enjoying the scenery, head north and follow the route back to East Chiltington, where you can enjoy food and refreshments at The Jolly Sportsman, a great gastropub that offers delicious food and drinks.
A mix of woodland, bridged streams and countryside lanes. A steep ascent upto the South Downs Way, but the views are worth it. Would recommend saving this walk for Spring as the woodland areas are carpeted with bluebells and hugged by streams, making it pretty magic.
Lots of lovely views and walking through little villages. Did get lost at one point but found my way back through some woodlands!
Really nice walk with beautiful views but quite hard to navigate due to many signs missing. Ending up getting lost quite a bit and took a detour. Nice escape and quiet
Great all rounder with a section of South downs with great views
