Flamborough Coastal Circuit is a 10.6 mile loop trail located near Bridlington, East Riding of Yorkshire, England that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, nature trips, and bird watching.
Parking is available at Danes Dyke car park for £2.90 all day. This stunning trail hugs the coast along the cliffs of the village of Flamborough. This loop can easily be made shorter by using trails and country roads that intersect along various points along the way. There are many places on the route to park and begin the journey, and you can always make this an out and back by turning around and heading back to where you parked. Please note that on the route featured here, you will be required to walk through town all the way across Flamborogh on a mix of roads and pedestrian paths to return to your point of origin.
trail was good. however watch out for dog shite in farmers field. nobody round here bothers with black bags.
Started at Danes Dyke car park. £2.90 all day parking. Toilets, food and ice cream on site. About 1hr30 to Flamborough lighthouse with some inclines and declines to test the legs early on. Good walk throughout with some excellent views. We continued on just past Bempton Cliffs, before turning off and essentially walking the back roads back to make it a loop. Two lovely pubs (White Horse Inn and Martonian Inn) split the walk back nicely. We finished at dusk, but any later and I’d say it’s a dangerous walk on the back roads as small parts not footpathed. *There is a part of the walk which has a VERY narrow path which overlooks a cliff and could be dangerous in wet conditions so be careful! If we were to do the route again, we’d probably start at Flamborough Lighthouse, which would allow us further time to discover the cliffs further along. Time: 4hrs50 Distance: 25km Elevation: 308m
Start from the car park (£2.90/24h) where toilets are free and there is possibility to buy an ice cream, drinks(pay cash only).Basically walk is full of great views for coast fans(cliffs, seals in the water, sea stacks, lighthouse:) Comfy shoes needed, might be muddy after rainy days, few steps to take, bit of climbing if you want to get off the proper path, scenery is changing- cliff-beach-fields-forest, you won't get bored
This trail was brilliant, it has a few challenges here and there, the views are beautiful. There are lots of stops and places to enjoy the scenes and bays. The paths are really clear and easy to follow. The app worked wonderfully and made the experience easier. Total time taken to walk was 2hrs 30mins, worked out 13km.
