Getting There

As of May 28, 2020, users have reported that part of this trail has been closed off by the owner who has bought the farm. A short circular walk from the village of Elloughton onto the Yorkshire Wolds. Leave behind the rush of traffic on the A63 to reach a grand viewpoint over the Humber Estuary. The walk follows good paths with clear waymarking. There are several gates and kissing gates, easily passed through, plus some shallow steps but there are no stiles to climb. The gradients are mostly gentle rises and falls but there is one steep descent and one stiff climb. Horses are sometimes in the final fields. Allow 1hr without stops, but longer to enjoy the views.

Elloughton lies south of the A63 and is reached from the west by exiting at South Cave, or from the east by exiting at Welton. At the crossroads in Elloughton, turn towards Brantingham on Main Street where roadside parking is available. Be aware that a small section of parking has a limited wait time of 1 hour. Time may be well spent reading the history of Elloughton on the display board next to local notices on the wall. Approximate post code HU15 1HU.

Muddy

Lovely walk with great views and a lot to explore. Steep hills at times and steep declines, but would highly recommend and would do again

Managed to navigate this trail with a pram and a 4 year old. Tricky through the field but otherwise relatively flat paths. Lovely scenery and the forest was great to explore. The dog loved it too!

Lovely walk, some fabulous views of the Humber Estuary. Dogs can be off lead most of the time.
