A bit more than "moderate" if you scale Thorpe Cloud first.

we did from Ilam Park, NT to the stepping stones over those uo and right up the hill to the top and over and down.... it was an absolute kikler, but my 3 girls age 6 10 and 14 did it, im a little over weight so was doing it for weight loss and hiking etc is the onky sport i Enjoy.. we all found it a huge challenge as I'd love to know how far we walked.... and the name of the huge hill/FELT like a mountain lol

I would recommend this route on a weekday. There is a beautiful picnic spot slightly over half way round with panoramic views over Dovedale and beyond if you walk the clockwise route.

It’s a pretty walk but it’s uncomfortably busy and not challenging in any way. Was told it’s the prettiest place in Derbyshire; I digress, there are so many better places! Try Castleton, Matlock, Fernilee or Mam Tor!

This walk was very beautiful. We went anti-clockwise. However, we went on a scorching bank holiday Monday and the place was PACKED. Also, be aware that the route shown on this app requires a walk across stepping stones through a shallow river. I can't imagine the stones being a challenge for anyone out walking, but today, because of the queue, it took about 20 min to cross. we ended up walking 5 min back down the trail across a bridge and back up on the far bank. The people in front of us in the queue had still not crossed! All this to say, it's a stunning walk, with a variety of scenery, a river, woods, open fields and small but challenging changes in elevation. I can only imaging how nice it would be on a crisp winter morning (not the hottest bank holiday Monday since records began!!)

Very nice, easy walk. Part along the river is very "soothing".

It was a beautiful and easy walking, with the sound of the river always making company. Highly recommended!
