The pub quoted is no longer trading although there are some nice pubs in Longnor itself

HikingGreat!

Loved walking across the hill peaks - really unique and great views! The rest of the walk was okay - would have preferred to start with the steep climbs vs leaving it to the end of the walk as suggested.

Rock climbingMuddy

started at Church Street, was a 2.6 mile hike to the bottom of park house. we got a bit lost and ended up going up the side of the hill which was very hard but fun! was steep and slippery going back down Parkhouse hill thanks to the rain the day before. the views at the peeks were spectacular and it was so quiet up there. Definitely recommend the walk but not for beginners and need to be pretty fit. The route is pretty simple to follow I did have to use the app to make sure I was following the right track though.

As many have said, this turns into a difficult trail when wet, every steep in places and slippy underfoot conditions makes this a hard trail Otherwise, on a sunny dry day, very nice hike, great views!!!

HikingGreat!

Didn’t do the full route due to weather. Went clockwise and wild camped on chrome hill (I think). Then as we came down just before going up Park House peak we took a short cut back to the town. Very enjoyable.

Not sure if I took the wrong route down Parkhouse going towards Chrome but it was pretty hairy. Every step I took the ground rolled away beneath my feet and I have a nice grazed bottom to show for descending the hill on it. Laughed at myself so was absolutely fine but something to be aware of as honestly the route I took was borderline dangerous. Fantastic views, lots of sheep on most of this walk so advise keeping dogs on leads.

Really enjoyable walk. Came across a few cows on route but left us and two dogs alone. Some good climbs on route with some grand views.

Great location, lovely hike. Although parts of the track are not accurate so have to go of course a little to avoid walking on private land and this hike is much longer than advertised!

HikingScramble

This superb circular walk can be usefully shortened by setting off from Hollinsclough or Earl Sterndale. The descent from Parkhouse Hill towards Chrome Hill is steep and exposed on smooth rock, best avoided when wet or if of a nervous disposition. This can be avoided by taking the path around the base of the hill, on the right if approaching from the south. The entire walk can be done on public footpaths or open access land with only a small amount of road walking. This must be one of the best routes in the Peak District and relatively little visited compared to the honeypots.

Really good walk, off the beaten track. However, once you’ve done the dragons back it takes you onto private property, we took the road around instead
