HikingGreat!

Great walk with spectacular views, the first 1 mile is the hardest. Very cold and windy at the top so wear plenty of layers

As other reviews - Really lovely views from the summit. The wind comes whistling across so make sure you have a windbreak. As for the trail, just very dull in my opinion. Not particularly fun or exciting, steep(ish) incline but wide and well laid path. At worst this is 'moderate' you just don't get much walking time before you're going up the steepest part. The first 3/4 mile or so is the most taxing

Tough but amazing climb. Set off at 6:30am in the dark and was done by 10am. Car park gets very busy hence why I went early and there were a fair few people climbing up as I was coming back down. Beware it can be extremely windy and cold at the top! Definitely one of my favourites.

Tricky climb! Very steep for the majority of the ascent. We walked from Keswick so a long day but very enjoyable.

HikingGreat!No shade

This was a great, very straightforward hike. Navigation was not difficult, and although the first mile is pretty steep, I wouldn’t personally have classed this as hard. Definitely would not try and do it in bad weather though as the top is very exposed! I get the impression this gets very busy - I started before 8am on a Monday and had the summit entirely to myself, by the time I came down it there were dozens and dozens of people making their way up and the parking all the way up the lane was crammed. It took me 2:45 in total, at a steady unrushed pace, but I did not stop at all.

I did this hike on a sunny day recently. A steep incline at the beginning for a little while but it levels out. Great views of Keswick, Derwentwater and Blencathra on the way up. Couple more shorter steep inclines before finally reaching the summit. An enjoyable walk. Hard going on the knees on the way back down!

Very steep start for around 1-1.5 mile high % incline doesn’t stop. Once you cross the 3rd gate very sharp edge and then a final scramble up to the peek. Wouldn’t advise unless you are fully prepared and equipped for all weather. But if you are prepared though tremendous walk with what could be amazing views on a clear day!
