Mungrisdale Round is a 8.3 mile loop trail located near Penrith, Cumbria, England that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, and nature trips.
The walk starts from Mungrisdale and follows the long ridge of Souther Fell, crosses Mousthwaite Comb and the River Glenderamackin then climbs steeply to Bannerdale Crags. Views to Sharp Edge are exquisite. After Bowscale Fell you could instead if you prefer just follow the east ridge back to Mungrisdale rather than via Bowscale Tarn.
Excellent hike through remote fells, great views and snow covered fell tops. Blue skies all perfect. Medium hike.
Fab walk, if the sun is shining it must be stunning we had a cloudy day but still beautiful. I wanted to swim in the tarn but water was extremely cold so only managed a paddle! Lovely walk very quiet and enjoyable.
