HikingGreat!Muddy

Hands down one of the top 5 walks to do in the Lakes - we followed the easily trackable path up to the summit of Illgill Head before rejoining the trail to walk along Whin Rigg. The descent is a little steep but with amazing views of England’s deepest lake to keep you company. The final leg of the trail skirts Wastwater with plenty of places to stop for a wild swim to refresh, picnic, and admire views of the Scafell Massif. A few gates to pass through, some pretty boggy spots, but easy to navigate.
