Description
Waypoints (1)

This is a relatively easy trail that will take you to the Skelwith and Colwith Forces (waterfalls). Along the way you will walk by lakes, rivers, through woods and along pastures. In the spring there are lots of wildflowers, and there are always many different types of water fowl in the lakes and rivers. The waterfalls may not be huge in height or volume, but they are very scenic. About halfway along you can have a cup of tea or coffee, and maybe if lucky a newly baked scone.

Nice steady walk, pretty much anybody could do this walk, fairly easy & mostly flat apart from a few sections. Some lovely views but probably not the best in the Lake District.

Really lovely trail. Nice and easy on the body. Got lost only the once when we took a wrong turn and ended up in a quarry. But managed to get it back on track. Breathtaking views.

Did this trail in September. Great walk. Nice and scenic. A little tricky through the trees at times but overall not too hard. Nice and flat down by the river, this is the busiest bit as is the most acceptable and flattest part

fantastic walk. completed the walk in Dec 2020. frost on the ground and snow capped mountains made for a photographers dream. very busy car park. but besides that, a very enjoyable walk. many different views and landscape. a great place to stop if its open is the muddy boots cafe in a farm yard. we had french onion soup and a hot mug of tea. a nice accompaniment to the walk. if you have not done this walk it should be on your list. don't miss out.

Great walk, worth a stop just before the end for a coffee at Chesters by the river.

we went anti clockwise from Chester's vegan restaurant which I would like to highly recommend. the first part was so easy and beautiful then a horrible steep climb after that. the views are amazing around the route and there are some hard parts that make me feel that this walk is at the top of easy! overall would recommend though.

I was a little worried I’d chosen badly, with the crowds and temperaments on the initial stretch by the river - and that it was too artificial. That all changed once we crossed the bridge by Skelwith Force - the crowds thinned out and the walk turned into a very varied forest/fell/lane route and was a very enjoyable hike with more waterfalls and stunning views. I’m surprised this has an easy rating though as we did come across some senior walkers that were struggling a bit with the forest climb, but they got there!

Fantastic walk, good length, varied terrain, beautiful views. Carpark gets very busy, get there early... first part of the trail gets very busy also with people visiting the river and falls only.

Easy walk with dog and pregnant wife. To make it harder, scale the fell towards the end of walk, about 3/4 of the way round.

Lovely short walk.... And about 2 3rds of the way round is a perfect butty and brew stop point by the river over a quirky stone bridge, real nice...

Lovely walk, all terrains. Lovely views. Steep in small sections, mainly on well marked paths.
