Decent trail, easy to navigate. Thoroughly enjoyable, parking can be a bit hit and miss because it’s such a popular route.

Great walk today to Cat Bells, Maiden Moor and High Spy with my son. Weather held out making it good to trek, bit of wind here and there. Views were spectacular

Hard in the snow but a rewarding walk. Would definitely recommend this as more of a spring/summer walk

Very muddy! (Expected, given the season). Great walk. Definitely more of a moderate trail on the way down using this route. Would definitely recommend!

Very easy to navigate to and once your upon the trail, you can’t get lost. With today’s perfect weather, the scenery was picture perfect. For an easy to moderate route, it’s a perfect walk.

Steep climb up to Catbells, Maiden Moor and High Spy after that pretty straight forward. Long rocky decent, great view of the valley

Whoever made the return route, must of been high summer as the entire way back path was a stream. The path is the stream, they are one and the same??

The trail was great. Toughest part is getting up out of little town to cat bells then maiden moor, but after that all pretty straight forward. Amazing views of Derwent water.

HikingGreat!

I absolutely loved this walk! it did help that the weather was perfect! I parked in the car park at the tearoom (I didn't have time to visit but I paid £5 in the honestly box) the path was easy to find! turn right out of the car park and it's just up the road on the left side. All the paths were easy to follow after that too. Cat Bells was very busy at the top (everyone making the most out of a beautiful day) the rest of the trail was fairly quiet, I went on a Tuesday afternoon. I have a Collie and a jack Russell and neither of them had an issue. I think the most strenuous part is actually getting up Cat Bells, the walk along maiden moor really wasn't too bad (it helps to stop and turn around at the view.) High Spy was again relatively easy going. The waterfalls were breathtaking! and the walk down hill and back to the car was nice and easy. Although some parts were boggy! All in all a perfect walk!

Battery went dead on me but the darker red line is the route I took. Great days hiking. Take plenty of liquids on a hot day

Beautiful walk, Cat Bells was very well signposted as we walked from Keswick. Helped that we did it on a sunny day so the views were beautiful!

Fabulous walk to get you started if you haven’t done anything like this before. Nice scramble to the top of cat bells and from there it is a nice inclining walk along. We looped back down and round the base of cat bells

Loved this trail. The views at top of Maiden Moor and High Spy were breath taking! We took the valleys route down after High Spy and it was very difficult. Lots of loose rocks and stones. I don’t know if we went completely off path but there didn’t seem to be a clear path down. If anyone knows a better route after High Spy. One thing we did see though that way was the waterfalls. Absolutely beautiful. We filled our water bottles and had a paddle. It was a very long walk and very challenging.
