This route starts at the Northwest end of Buttermere and has the following highlights: Red Pike, Bleabury, Tarn, High Crag, Buttermere. There are several steep inclines on this walk but the effort is well worth the views. The walk can be done in less than 6 hours, but give yourself plenty of time on the descent from high crag as it can be a bit of a scramble. Finish off with a well deserved cold drink at a local pub.

A really nice day out. Bring plenty of water though on a hot day. Extending the loop round to Hay Stacks makes for a more strenuous, but satisfying day.
