The views to be seen from Blencathra are extensive, over to the East the Pennine chain, to the North the lowlands of Scotland to the West the Fells beyond Derwent Water. To the South the views of the Helvellyn and High Street range of mountains. All in all Blencathra provides the eye with natural beauty. One could say God's own garden especially as the Vale of Eden can be seen from the summit.

An excellent route - Sharp Edge was great fun, nothing too tricky. There’s not much parking space and it gets busy fast, so be sure to get there early.

Amazing trail, loved scrambling on sharp edge. Make sure you are prepared if doing this in winter and take extra care when the rocks are wet.

Great walk. Sharp Edge was thrilling but quite scary. Would do again though

Great hike. Few parts of sharp edge that were a bit scary if your not confident. But was really fun to do most of it! Note don’t do it if your legs are hurting from Cmd in Scotland day before!

Anti-clockwise is best route. Also reccomend coming back down the same path as grass bank at the end is steep and would be tough when wet! Otherwise a fantastic walk with scramble and tarn

nice little route, was steep heading up from the free car park at the end as we decided to just go as the crow flies until we met the main oath. Came back down sharp edge and was tough on the knees but a fun scramble nonetheless. Beautiful waterfall at the bottom of sharp edge to refresh the feet with very clear fresh water and a lovely little mossy area for a lunch break. We then took the first gate past the farms and over a small bridge to reach the car park again. Would do again and take a longer route. Took 3 and half hours with plenty of breathers!

Great walk today, scramble does need a little nerve as you are literally on a knife edge at some points but well worth it. Views are absolutely breathtaking at the summit from both sides. Good level of fitness required especially for the climb up but your rewarded by the views for sure. Took us just over 3 hours to complete and a well needed pub just at the bottom. A must do when in the Lake District

Great scramble, definately need confidence and a bit of a head for heights scrambling Sharp Edge as it's on the advanced side of things. If you've reasonably comfortably done Striding Edge, go for it. If not start with that one first. Overall fantastic hike and experience! Amazingly views from both the edge and on top of Blencathra itself. Average to good fitness required for the journey up and scramble.
