Brilliant walk! Sharp edge was fun and challenging! We chose a scorching hot day and ended up ascending in the hottest part of the afternoon! Cooled down at the summit, and we added on the descent of Halls Fell Ridge! Sharp and steep in places! Take plenty of care on the ridges but can be completed relatively easily with good weather and Balance.

Start of the hike and sharp edge are the hardest parts. Amazing views with a tarn half way up to swim in.

not bad to start, then gets steep and has slot of scrambling. Tough in the latter part of the ascent. Rest of walk fine.

It’s actually a very easy walk. All the way until you reach sharp edge, where it becomes a tough scramble. The scrambling is only for a little bit though. Fun hike overall. Great Challenge.

Not a bad walk up. It slowly builds in difficulty until it peaks at Sharps Edge. Pub at the bottom

I would recommend this trail to anyone who has a basic fitness. We took a left on the y-crossing near the lake. Meant we went very steep up and very very steep down over top of the Mountain. You can walk with your dog. We had a sunny Day, that is recommend when you take the steep acsent/decent on the hill side.

First to Review

A great, albeit short trip out. Worth waiting for a good day and getting up early - the crowds can be awful, but the views amazing. The rock on Sharp Edge has been severely eroded over time and is slippery in the extreme in anything other than dry conditions. The paths off to the side of the arête are to be avoided - not only are they one of the main contributors to erosion in the mountain, but also where accidents happen. Trust the solid rock on the right day and you’ll have a great time.
